Job Description:

Millig Design Build is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to perform mechanical engineering design for public, commercial and industrial building renovations and upgrades. You will be a trusted technical advisor for our clients and work collaboratively with our in-house construction and commissioning teams. Travel is required.

Anticipated compensation: $90,000 - $140,000 (top range is base salary plus performance bonuses and profit sharing) 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical engineering design for commercial and industrial building renovations and upgrades

  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations, design HVAC system layouts, process flow diagrams, installation detail drawings, and design documentation for all phases of the build

  • Develop designs for mechanical system upgrades as well as create construction drawings and specifications

  • Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the project team as needed, including guidance for controls sequence of operations for mechanical systems

  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including clients, design team, subcontractors, and suppliers

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited school

  • Licensed Professional Engineer or on-track to getting licensed

  • 5-7+ years of experience as a mechanical design engineer for building systems

  • Proficient in the technical design and operation of mechanical and controls systems of buildings

  • Strong working knowledge of engineering and construction software

  • Experience in energy calculation software and energy modeling of building systems
