Job Description:
Millig Design Build is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to perform mechanical engineering design for public, commercial and industrial building renovations and upgrades. You will be a trusted technical advisor for our clients and work collaboratively with our in-house construction and commissioning teams. Travel is required.
Anticipated compensation: $90,000 - $140,000 (top range is base salary plus performance bonuses and profit sharing)
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical engineering design for commercial and industrial building renovations and upgrades
Perform heating and cooling load calculations, design HVAC system layouts, process flow diagrams, installation detail drawings, and design documentation for all phases of the build
Develop designs for mechanical system upgrades as well as create construction drawings and specifications
Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the project team as needed, including guidance for controls sequence of operations for mechanical systems
Coordinate and communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including clients, design team, subcontractors, and suppliers
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited school
Licensed Professional Engineer or on-track to getting licensed
5-7+ years of experience as a mechanical design engineer for building systems
Proficient in the technical design and operation of mechanical and controls systems of buildings
Strong working knowledge of engineering and construction software
Experience in energy calculation software and energy modeling of building systems
