Roaring Fork School District
Case Study
Located in the Roaring Fork Valley, Carbondale Middle School serves as a critical educational facility for the Roaring Fork School District. The district has begun updating critical building infrastructure to improve the educational environment for students and staff throughout all facilities. Carbondale Middle School represents one of the last remaining facilities heavily reliant on aging infrastructure and was in need of immediate attention to remedy several identified deficiencies.
Millig Design Build was selected to assist the district in implementing turnkey solutions to address these building challenges. Millig performed a detailed evaluation of the existing heating and ventilation system infrastructure, as well as the antiquated and inoperable building controls systems. Through this effort, the team identified widespread comfort issues, excessive energy consumption, and a lack of control within the existing control system framework.
Our team analyzed HVAC system options, developed control strategies to better operate both newly installed equipment and existing equipment to remain, and developed a commissioning plan to ensure all equipment operates cohesively under a single, modern building automation system.
Solutions
